Aylsham Community Fridge enables local residents and businesses to share surplus food and for anyone to help themselves to quality food that would otherwise be wasted.
Community Fridges are sociable places where any member of the community can exchange surplus food. They aim to reduce food waste and provide a space where locals can share food and household items, skills, recipes and more. They are open to everyone, and work on a spirit of trust. Anyone in the community can donate and anyone can take. For example, you might have an unopened bottle of milk that is in date that you cannot drink before going on holiday. You can give this to the fridge.
There are Community Fridges around the Country and they all operate a little differently. Come and see ours and find out how you can get involved.
